One of my favorite annual campaigns at Hulu is ‘Made by Her’. Our team’s purpose here was to show just how much women in entertainment improve the overall diversity on our screens when they’re given the chance. This concept was put together in-house with Hulu’s creative studio ‘Greenhouse’.
In partnership with MSG Entertainment, hosted by Craig Robinson and directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen, this first musical event celebrating Black History Month featured performances by five groundbreaking artists including 24kGoldn, Joy Oladokun, Kiana Ledé, Lil Yachty, and Swae Lee.
2020 really put Pride festivals on the back foot and reveling even further behind. Our brand wanted to provide the LGBTQ+ community and allies a safe way to attend festivities, watch exclusive performances and content.
This site created by Active Theory won an FWA for its fun and bright design.
One hot minute almost three years ago, a brown egg took over Kylie Jenner as the world record holder for the most followed account on instagram. Hulu seized the moment to crack and show the pressures of social media and raise awareness for Mental Health America. The campaign was delivered in partnership with our agency The Times.
Some projects take all your conviction to pitch, make, and sell-through, over and over to make a reality. Our One Small Action campaign at Hulu is an evergreen campaign in the fight for racial justice and equality. We know it takes action of every kind to make lasting change, even if it is just the smallest of actions.
Made By Her campaign in 2021 going from stride to stride showing that being a ‘strong female lead’ is more than just a trope, but can and should be much more complex in today’s world.
This campaign was delivered in partnership with our in-house creative team ‘Greenhouse’.
One of the first campaigns the Culture Lab ever brought to life was to create a dedicated collection in celebration of ‘international day of people with disabilities’ - this house promo was the third iteration of the campaign delivered in December 2020.
This concept was put together in-house with Hulu’s creative studio ‘Greenhouse’.
There was no doubt in our mind that we’d need to cut through at every level to ensure our subscribers were inspired to vote during 2020. We repurposed almost all Hulu Originals Key Art with one powerful and simple message: VOTE

The 2020 General Elections were a busy time at Hulu, and ensuring we kept as bi-partisan as possible (despite my instincts) to get our subscribers energized to vote was a big objective for our ‘be a voter’ campaign with #rockthevote

A branded content concept intended to widen the aperture of black excellence in the mainstream spotlight beyond musicians and pro athletes. Two seasons and a special episode for the 2020 elections that feature activists, artists, surfers, farmers, inventors, and poets. This concept was put together in-house with Hulu’s creative studio ‘Greenhouse’.
In the US there is just one woman statue and monument for every ten monuments to men. Hulu set out to change that inequality in an ambitious public art project in Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles.
Each year Hulu celebrates Latinx Heritage Month and during 2020 we partnered with The Black List to identify 10 talented writers and create stories with them. This is their journey in their own heartfelt words, as interviewed by their loved ones.
Originally a branded content concept for our ‘FIND YOUR VOICE’ brand platform, we developed this 8 episode show as a Hulu Original during 2020. The diverse cast from ‘Defining Moments’ talks first hand about their stories of resilience and what were their defining moments, to help our audiences find their own voices.
Featured in the show are John Legend, Dominique Jackson, Jameela Jamil, Jason Collins, Sophia Chang, and Amy Purdy
This concept was put together with our partners at Ozy Media
We know our audience is concerned with climate change and with environmental issues. Showing up, and sharing stories that can impact change where it counts is something that is at the heart of our brand.
